Dee Lucitte, Client, New York

“I saw Tyrion offered for sale and was impressed with the very detailed description of him. I thought he might be the fox hunter and trail horse I was hoping to find.  Dr. Pettler and I discussed Tyrion and also my experience level with horses and what I wanted my new horse to be.  She offered a complete profile of him, everything from getting him in the pasture to hopping on at a hunt, his temperament, health and training, and lots of information that only an experienced horse person would notice and think to mention.  We both agreed that Tyrion and I appeared to be a perfect match.  I made a giant leap of faith and agreed to buy Tyrion without ever meeting him in person.  I am a very cautious person, this was totally out of character for me but I just knew that Dr. Pettler had been 100% honest, he was exactly the way she described and it was going to be a success. Dr. Pettler was wonderful and made herself available for the PPE and for the shipper to pick Tyrion up for his move from North Carolina to New York State.  It was very exciting when he arrived but not at all stressful because I felt like I already knew him from my conversations with Dr. Pettler.  She and I were both right, he is just perfect for me, and exactly the horse I was expecting.  Tyrion and I have been together for 2 years and he is the most wonderful horse, healthy, fun to be with, beautifully trained and I could not be more happy with him!”

Ethical Horse Buying and Selling Requires Integrity, Transparency, Detailed Information, and Value

At Crossroads Ranch, we believe honesty isn’t optional — it’s the foundation of ethical horsemanship. We approach every sale with integrity, complete transparency, and verifiable information so that buyers can make confident, educated decisions. Many clients come to us after difficult or disappointing horse experiences — horses that weren’t represented accurately, or that had behavioral or health issues no one disclosed. We’ve been there too, and we built our entire program to prevent that from ever happening again.

Below are common buyer challenges — and exactly how we solve them.

Problem: Horses today often have little real value for the money they cost. Solved: We add measurable value through a structured program that improves each horse’s behavior, health, and performance — turning potential into proven reliability.

Problem: You need a Pre-Purchase Examination (PPE). Solved: All horses are fully vetted before they are listed for sale.

Problem: You want full health records. Solved: Buyers receive public online access to complete veterinary records for every listed horse directly through our website.

Problem: You want to ensure genetic soundness and suitability. Solved: Many of our sale horses undergo Etalon ProPanel DNA testing, screening for congenital diseases and traits related to color, temperament, speed, and endurance.

Problem: You want to know what breeds make up your horse. Solved: We use Etalon Ancestry DNA testing to identify 100% of each horse’s breed composition — giving you a clear understanding of what disciplines they’re best suited for.

Problem: You need reliable behavioral, conformation, and performance data. Solved: Every horse enters our system with a full behavioral, health, conformation, and performance assessment. We use this data to design a customized training, health, and nutrition plan. Only horses that pass all final assessments upon graduation are listed for sale. Final reports are made publicly available online.

Problem: You need more time to pay for your dream horse. Solved: We offer 60-day payment plans for horses priced over $15,000 (private sales only).

Problem: You need help with shipping or delivery. Solved: Crossroads Ranch provides delivery within 600 miles of Monroe, NC for $2.50 per mile (one way). We can also recommend trusted commercial shippers we’ve personally used.

Problem: You need temporary boarding or training. Solved: We offer both short-term board and customized training programs to help your new partner transition smoothly.

Problem: You want insurance protection for your new horse. Solved: Our horses are insured through The Baldwin Group. Contact Emily Ayres, Relationship Manager, Private Risk Management. License #18018547. O: (937) 688-1992. E: emily.ayres@baldwin.com. Mention Crossroads Ranch when you call.

  • SOLD - Cedra of Dorne

    $12,000

CONFIRMED IN FOAL to our stunning Gypsy Vanner stallion Arkyn for a March 2026 foal that will be buckskin or black solid or tobiano

Beautiful and super talented registered Frenchman Guy bred Buckskin American Quarter Horse Mare.

    6 years old

If you’re looking for beauty, grace, and speed, you’ve found it! This gorgeous, brave mare can go in almost any direction. Intelligent and on the go, this gal loves a job! She’s got the motor for barrel racing or true ranch work and the looks and conformation that make her an excellent candidate for a brood mare. Sweet and in your pocket on the ground, this beauty loves to be groomed and loved on, but once she’s cinched up, it’s time to work. Cedra would be best suited for a person who has an objective in mind. Her work ethic will take you far. Cedra is a serious horse for a serious rider. She’s at her best when she is in work. She has no interest in being someone’s “weekend warrior,” because she’s a warrior 24/7! Maybe one day, when she’s older, she’ll be a great babysitter for someone, but for now, she needs to be allowed to be herself - in action and working towards a goal. She’s a “sleep when you’re dead” type who really does “rise and slay!” Bring her along in your chosen discipline and we have no doubt she’ll bring you success.
