Dee Lucitte, Client, New York

“I saw Tyrion offered for sale and was impressed with the very detailed description of him. I thought he might be the fox hunter and trail horse I was hoping to find.  Dr. Pettler and I discussed Tyrion and also my experience level with horses and what I wanted my new horse to be.  She offered a complete profile of him, everything from getting him in the pasture to hopping on at a hunt, his temperament, health and training, and lots of information that only an experienced horse person would notice and think to mention.  We both agreed that Tyrion and I appeared to be a perfect match.  I made a giant leap of faith and agreed to buy Tyrion without ever meeting him in person.  I am a very cautious person, this was totally out of character for me but I just knew that Dr. Pettler had been 100% honest, he was exactly the way she described and it was going to be a success. Dr. Pettler was wonderful and made herself available for the PPE and for the shipper to pick Tyrion up for his move from North Carolina to New York State.  It was very exciting when he arrived but not at all stressful because I felt like I already knew him from my conversations with Dr. Pettler.  She and I were both right, he is just perfect for me, and exactly the horse I was expecting.  Tyrion and I have been together for 2 years and he is the most wonderful horse, healthy, fun to be with, beautifully trained and I could not be more happy with him!”

Ethical Horse Buying and Selling Requires Integrity, Transparency, Detailed Information, and Value

Here’s a list of what the American Quarter Horse Association recommends for buyers when horse shopping.

People often come to us because they currently have or have had horse problems. They have had bad experiences with horses on the ground and/or under saddle because they didn’t have enough information before they bought. We get it. We’ve had those kinds of problems too. We fix horse problems for horse people, such as:

  • Problem: Horses today actually have very little value for the money they cost.

    • Solved. We agree. This is why add measurable value to our horses by improving their behavior, thinking, health, and performance.

  • Problem: You need a Pre-Purchase Examination.

    • Solved. We vet our horses prior to listing them for sale.

  • Problem: You need to review the horse’s full health records.

    • Solved. Before you buy you have public online access to the horse’s full health records through our website.

  • Problem: You need DNA that proves the horse is genetically clear and suitable for your purpose.

    • Solved. We run Etalon ProPanel DNA testing on many sale horses we list for congenital diseases, color, temperament, speed, and endurance.

  • Problem: You need DNA breed information to understand what jobs the horse is suited for.

    • Solved. We run Etalon Ancestry DNA testing on many horses we list that breaks down 100% of the horse’s breeds.

  • Problem: You need information about the horse’s behavior, conformation, and performance on the ground and under saddle.

    • Solved. Every horse starts our program with a behavioral, health, conformation, and performance assessment used to diagnose and develop a health, nutrition, and training program that helps your horse graduate with the skills needed to thrive with you. Upon graduation, the horse is retested and must pass all tests to be listed for sale. We make our final report available to you on our website.

  • Problem: You need a little extra time to pay for your Dream Horse

    • Solved. We offer 60-day payment plans for horses over $15,000 sold only in private sales.

  • Problem: You need to find a shipper or have the horse delivered

    • Solved. CREK offers shipping and delivery within 600 miles of Monroe, NC for $2.50/mile one way. We can also recommend trusted shippers we’ve used ourselves.

  • Problem: You need temporary boarding and/or training for your horse.

    • Solved. We offer both temporary board and various types of training for your horse.

  • Problem: You need insurance on your new horse.

    • Solved. We insure our horses with The Baldwin Group. Please contact Emily Ayres, Relationship Manager, Private Risk Management. License #18018547, O: 937-688-1992, emily.ayres@baldwin.com and tell her we sent you!

  • SOLD - Cedra of Dorne

    $12,000

CONFIRMED IN FOAL to our stunning Gypsy Vanner stallion Arkyn for a March 2026 foal that will be buckskin or black solid or tobiano

Beautiful and super talented registered Frenchman Guy bred Buckskin American Quarter Horse Mare.

    6 years old

If you’re looking for beauty, grace, and speed, you’ve found it! This gorgeous, brave mare can go in almost any direction. Intelligent and on the go, this gal loves a job! She’s got the motor for barrel racing or true ranch work and the looks and conformation that make her an excellent candidate for a brood mare. Sweet and in your pocket on the ground, this beauty loves to be groomed and loved on, but once she’s cinched up, it’s time to work. Cedra would be best suited for a person who has an objective in mind. Her work ethic will take you far. Cedra is a serious horse for a serious rider. She’s at her best when she is in work. She has no interest in being someone’s “weekend warrior,” because she’s a warrior 24/7! Maybe one day, when she’s older, she’ll be a great babysitter for someone, but for now, she needs to be allowed to be herself - in action and working towards a goal. She’s a “sleep when you’re dead” type who really does “rise and slay!” Bring her along in your chosen discipline and we have no doubt she’ll bring you success.
